The ZOO

Since we had Jeremy home the week after Christmas we went to the Zoo!  It was gorgeous weather and we had such a fun time together as a family.  I’m used to trying to handle both boys at the zoo alone so it was nice to have Jeremy there.  The boys loved showing him their favorite exhibits and of course eating grilled cheese sandwiches and fries.

These first few pictures are of us attempting to get a picture of ourselves on the train.  As you can see it didn’t work out very well.  But holy cow the boys love that train.  They could ride it all day long.

How we Roll

For Christmas I scored this awesome Power Wheels Escalade on Craigslist!  I was so excited and it was sooo hard to keep it a secret for a month!  Good thing they are still young enough to not notice a big thing in the garage covered by a tarp.  We actually ended up giving the escalade to the boys like 4 days after Christmas because it had been raining and freezing.  It worked out great because the boys were able to play with their other toys they received for a few days and then when the weather got nice again, we surprised them with the Escalade.  They of course love it.  And I love watching the two of them cruising around our backyard.

Favorite Things of December

I know, it’s the second week in January.  But I don’t want to forget how much fun we had with the Christmas season this year.  The boys were totally into it and we had a blast!

  • The boys dancing in the car to Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton soundtrack
  • How excited Max is about “Santa Cwause”
  • How much the boys love the Christmas lights on our house
  • Driving around looking at Christmas lights on other houses
  • How tenderly Max talks about the baby Jesus and plays with our manger scene
  • Wrapping colored lights around Max’s bed and turning it on every night
  • Max worrying about how we didn’t have a star on the top of our tree (he helped me pick one out)
  • Decorating the tree in the playroom as a family
  • redecorating our two Christmas tree’s everyday because Kyler takes ornaments off everyday.
  • Watching Max run up to deliver treats to neighbors
  • Max being excited to watch old Christmas classics with Jeremy and I (old chipmunk cartoon, old Christmas Disney movies, grinch, etc.)
  • Attending Max’s school pageant and watching him poke his friend Noah during the entire thing instead of singing.
  • These random silly pictures
