Just Keepin’ it Real

I was talking to a friend a while back who told me she feels like a bad mom when she reads other Mom’s blogs.  Their lives always seem so neatly put together… kids dressed cute, house clean, crafty projects going on all the time, etc.  They seem to be able to accomplish a million things all while looking like a super model.  I know what she means, I feel it too sometimes.  I myself have to admit, I am guilty of blogging about the fun times, while leaving out the crazy.  I post only the pictures that I think I look skinny in, and leave out the other “fat ones”.  Do you do this?  Maybe it’s just me.  Anyways, in an effort to keep it real… I present to you the email I sent to Jeremy this morning describing my day thus far……

“So don't worry... Max has pooped his pants twice today.  The first time he came to tell me after he had already done it.  We went to the potty and dumped it in... but he got poo all over the toilet seat and it fell out of his underwear onto the rug.  awesome.  Then when I had just sat down to eat my pork salad, he told me he had to go potty.  He had just peed on the potty 2 seconds earlier so I didn’t think it was urgent.   but I started to take off his shorts anyways and all of a sudden he pooped out a ton... filled up his underwear.  running down his leg onto the carpet. got all over me.  I had to strip him in the shower and bathe him.  And now there are poo chunks all over in the shower and my salad is soggy.

just venting.  I know you are too busy to write back.  Probably even too busy to read this.  But maybe I will feel better if I just vent.  Also, I have bachelorette tonight don't forget.  I may not return :-)”

Lovely isn’t it?  I don’t even think I made sense in most of the email.  I was just too frustrated to make any sense.  Now I am laughing at my crazy day.  Max has been doing so good with potty training,  I think maybe he wasn’t feeling good?  Poor boy.  I know it is kinda gross to blog about poop, but that has been my day thus far.  Also, I should add that I am still in pj’s, my house is a mess, and my visiting teachers came over this morning and witnessed it all.  Can I get a do over?

4th of July Weekend Part 1

We had a blast over the 4th of July weekend!

On Friday we went out of town with our good friends the Jones and Petersens to Schlitterbahn.  For those of you who don’t live in Texas, this place is like Disneyland but it’s a waterpark.  It is huge and you have to take a bus to get from one side to the other.  It’s about a 3 hour drive to get there but totally worth it.  We all rented out a condo together that was right inside the waterpark.  SUPER convenient when you have a 2 and 1 year old.   The boys kept us so busy and crazy but it was so much fun.  The only pictures I had time to take where a few of the car ride on the way up, and the boys passed out while we were on our way home after a long day of playing hard.

On our way to Schlitterbahn:  We decided to face Ky’s carseat forward and he loved it!  I love how entertained he is now that he can watch out his window.  The boys really did so good during the car ride.

Loading up in the car to go home:  I had to put Max in the stroller because he was so tired he could barely walk!  And when we got back to the car we changed him out of his swimsuit with out him even waking up haha!  We really had a blast!IMG_1998IMG_2003IMG_2002IMG_1997IMG_2006

4th of July Weekend Part 2

Happy Independence Day!

On Monday we had more of a low key day. We were still recovering from our little trip so we were pretty tired. We went to go see Cars 2 in the morning, again with the Petersen’s and Jones. In the evening we went to Chuy’s for dinner with the Petersens. Neither of us has family here and neither of us wanted to cook so it was great. We then went home and watched a movie and put the kiddos to bed. Kinda lame but we couldn’t do fireworks because of the firework ban and the boys were so exhausted from our weekend that they were happy to go to bed early. Anyways, all in all it was a really fun 4th of July weekend. I feel so blessed to live here in America and for all the freedoms we enjoy. I have to admit though, its one of the holidays that I get the most homesick… besides Christmas of course. It was a little depressing to not be at our family barbeques back home… swimming, eating good food, lighting fireworks, and enjoying my dad’s homemade ice cream. {sigh}.

Playing with my camera

Okay, I know I have already said this but I seriously LOVE my new camera.  Not to mention I have the cutest little boys to take a bajillion pictures of.  Here’s a quick little update on my adorable little munchkins:

Little update on Bubba:

  • Words: Mama, Dada, Choo choo, Ahhh Boa (all aboard), Ki Ca (Kitty cat), ax (Max)
  • Still can’t walk!  He has been so close for quite a while.  He takes 5 or 6 steps and then sits down.
  • He loves pushing trains and cars just like his big brother
  • Loves to pull EVERYTHING out of the cupboards and make big messes
  • loves to sit on the cat and give him hugs
  • learned to climb furniture
  • Wants to be big like Max
  • Waves at complete strangers
  • gets shy sometimes and buries his head into my shoulder
  • loves playing peekaboo and hiding with Max
  • Loves to dance to music
  • still has terrible eczema.  Thank heavens for our perscription creams!
  • Currently we are doing a trial run of being off his Reflux meds.  It’s been a week and he seems to be doing good.  Hopefully it continues!

My MAX

  • Has such a big, fun, loud personality
  • Says silly things all day long
  • Loves his brother, hates sharing with him
  • Loves to body slam, tackle, and roll around with his brother
  • Loves to throw balls with Daddy
  • Watches for bugs, spiders, and lizards
  • Knows his shapes, colors, and many of his numbers
  • Working on our ABC’S.  He can say most of them but says “cheese” instead of the letter G.  A,B,C,D,E,F, CHEESE, H, I…. Makes me smile everytime
  • Loves to sing songs.  His favorites are popcorn popping, twinkle twinkle little star, and the Alphabet song
  • Has a weird obsession with Christmas movies and wants to watch them all the time
  • Wants to be a garbage man when he grows up haha.  We have to go outside and wave to our garbage man twice a week when they come by.  They are always so sweet to wave at him and honk the horn.
  • Always wants Mommy to put him to bed.  And then he sweetly asks me to “nuggle me please Mommy” (snuggle)
  • He tells me “You my best friend”.  Melts my heart every time!
  • He loves to snuggle on the couch and asks if we can hold hands.  He’s like my little boyfriend.
  • Love to read books before bed
  • Throws major fits when we try to leave somewhere fun like the pool or park.  Super embarrassing.  But he is getting better and learning to control his emotions better.  He just has so much fun when we go places that he is so sad when we have to leave.
  • He tells me “you’re the best!”
  • When ever I do something nice for him or get him something, he says  “Awww thanks Mommy!  You’re so sweet”!

I love these two little boys so much.  They both bring so much joy and happiness (and craziness) into my life.

Brudders

I love watching these two play together.  It is getting to be so much fun now that Kyler can keep up better.  These two can play so nice sometimes…

And other times, they make me want to pull my hair out.  Poor Kyler.  He takes a lot of beatings.  They aren’t always on purpose, Max just has a hard time being gentle.

My Little Mess Maker

Kyler is in that fun stage of exploring his environment and learning how to do lots of new things.  With that comes making lots and lots of messes!  Lately he loves pulling everything out the cupboards that don’t have locks on them.  This particular time he was cracking us up because the whole time he seemed like he was looking for something.  He was rummaging through the cupboard for quite a while and taking stuff out when finally he found what he was looking for… CHOCOLATE!  I did not even know I had any baking chocolate in that cupboard because that’s not where I keep it.  I’m pretty sure it somehow fell and he stashed it in the cupboard for later.  He was cracking us up because he was so happy when he finally found it!  He then tried his hardest to rip open the packaging and even tried to eat it while still in the wrapper.

As a side note…. I realize it is completely ridiculous to take this many pictures of him going through the cupboard.  But I am THAT obsessed with my children.  I thought they were all so cute that I couldn’t leave any of them out.   Also, I didn’t realize my camera was on the wrong setting so the quality of the pictures is a little off.
