Santa Cwaus

Max got to see “Santa Cwaus” and sit on his lap at school.  Which is probably good because we didn’t quite make it to the mall to see him this year.  His teachers said he freaked out when he saw Santa because he was soooo excited.  I almost wish they didn’t do it at school because it means parents don’t get to be there to see it.  Oh well.  The funny thing is, you would never know Max was so excited because this is the picture they got…

The Terrible Three’s

Max is cracking me up/ driving me a little crazy lately.  He is so full of personality and I love it!  He says things all day long that makes us laugh.  I need to remember to write them all down.  Here are a few from yesterday:

“Mom?  Do you wanna dance?”

“Sure buddy I love to dance”

“Okay!”

He then runs  into the play room to grab his toy guitar and jam while yelling “Dance Mommy!  Dance!”

“Mommy?  I like your hair.“ (stroking my hair )

“Thank you”

“It sooo pretty!”

“Max, I love  you.”

Yells excitedly “I love you back!”

And after reading him a bedtime story I asked:

“Max should we sing the ABC song?”

“not now Mom.  I too tired

“Mom, you supa hot. I supa STRONG!” (while flexing his muscles)

He also has decided that instead of being a terrible two, he would be a terrible three.  He has moments of utter sweetness and delight, but is also getting really good at throwing fits, teasing his little brother, and yelling when he doesn’t get his way.  I’m really hoping this part passes quickly.  But for now, I’m drinking lots more diet dr. pepper and holding my breath while counting to ten.  Okay just kidding.  Kind of.

Also, something funny about Max lately… Just when  I thought he couldn’t get any pickier about food, he decided to prove me wrong.  I feel like this kid eats the same things every day.  He refuses to try new foods and now even turns up his nose at some of the old standby’s.  But we discovered a new food that he loves!  And it is so random.  He loves this!

Yep, Salisbury Steak with mac and cheese.  Uh, seriously?  Jeremy was eating this the other day and Max asked to have some.  Well Max then proceeded to eat the ENTIRE thing.  And now, he asks daily to have “daddy’s lunch”  which means he wants Boston Market Salisbury steak with mac and cheese.  Of course he can’t have it every day because those things are expensive.  But, needless to say, my freezer is now stalked with them.  Also, I must add that he will only eat the Boston Market brand.  We tried the stofers version once and he wouldn’t touch it.  Really Max?  Really?

Ready or Not

Kyler has recently been showing signs of potty training.  And by showing signs, I mean he pulls me into the bathroom while yelling “Pee” or “Poo”.  He then proceeds to pull down his pants and tries to take off his diaper.  So I have given in and I will sit him on the potty when he asks.  He never actually goes potty.  Just sits on there and giggles.  But after a few minutes I pull him off and put his diaper back on.  Then he FLUSHES, PUTS THE TOILET SEAT DOWN, and tries to WASH HIS HANDS.   Oh, and he’s only 19 months old.  No big deal.  I think potty training, whether I want to or not, may be in our near future.

Also, since I didn’t update before, Ky’s 18 month check up went good.  But he is a little shorty!  He is only in the 18th percentile for height and 50th weight.  Max also had his three year old check up at the same time and was in the 80th percentile for both height and weight.  They both also had bronchitis and double ear infections.  Tis the season.  I swear we have been sick and on antibiotics for a month!

Kyler also got a haircut!  His hair and curls were getting way too out of control so we went for the buzz cut.  I think he is super cute and it makes his eyelashes look really long!  BUT, I do miss the curls and kind of regret it.  Hopefully they grow back.   I keep doing a double take when I look at him because he looks so much older with his new hair cut.  Either way, what a cutie!

Allll Aboard!

Last weekend we drove 2 1/2 hrs to the little town of Palestine, Texas to ride the Polar Express!  We had a blast!  We went with our good friends the Petersens.  It was so fun to travel with them and our hotel rooms were joined which the kiddos thought was so much fun running around in!  At 4:00 we arrived at the train station and at 5:00 pm just as it was starting to get dark, the conductor yelled “All Aboard” and we got to board to Polar Express train.  The kids just about died.  Especially Max, Noah, and Kyler who are all obsessed with trains.  It was really quite the set up.  First, we listened to the polar express book.  Then we drank hot chocolate  (which the boys dumped down their PJ’s within like 2 seconds) and ate cookies that were served by chefs in real white chefs outfits like in the polar express movie.  Then the chefs walked up and down the rows singing Christmas carols from the soundtrack.  The boys loved watching out the window as we rode along.  Then when the train stopped, we arrived at the North Pole!  They had this strip of land all decorated with Christmas lights and a North Pole sign.  And wouldn’t you know it, Santa and his elves were there and Santa boarded our train!  The boys loved getting to meet him and Santa gave them each a bell, of course.  Then we all sang Christmas carols on the way back and the conductor came through to punch our tickets and sign the boys Polar Express book.  This was such a fun little weekend get away!  We loved going with our good friends and it was something fun to do since we aren’t going home for Christmas.

Okay, get ready for a Polar Express photo dump…

Bobby wanted to see what was going on so he rode on Max’s shoulder.  He was also cold so Max put him in his coat to keep him warm.

Arriving at the North Pole!  Max was a little upset because he wanted to get out and walk around in the North Pole.  Sorry pal.
