New Years 2013

We had a great time celebrating New Years Eve with the Jones family.  They came over to our house and we ordered take out and lit fireworks in our driveway.  One thing that was really sweet was when it was time to go to bed the boys wanted to sleep in the same bed like they did at the hotel a few days before.  I thought it was really cute so naturally I had to take a picture.  Once the kiddos were in bed Jeremy and I watched a little TV, gave each other a New Years kiss at midnight, and were both asleep by 12:05.  Wow we are boring.  That or we are the parents of little children who wake us up at the crack of dawn.  It was still a great New Years.  2013 was a hard year in many ways.  My parents ended their marriage and I was very sick for most of my pregnancy.  But 2013 also had a few beautiful moments I will never forget.  Like the birth of our sweet baby Jane, a family trip to Destin Florida, and Sea World.  So long 2013, Welcome 2014!

Santa’s Wonderland Dec. 26th and 27th

The day after Christmas we took an overnight trip with the Jones’s to Santa’s Wonderland in College Station.  This place was Texas Christmas at it’s finest.  It was Christmas lights and Santa mixed with big bon fires, Texas Barbecue, a bluegrass band playing Christmas music, and fake snow flurries falling from the sky.  But to the children it was magical.  We loved riding the hayride through the Christmas lights and eating all the yummy food.  It was even chilly that night so we actually needed coats and winter hats which made it feel “festive”.  My least favorite part was when Kyler decided to wander off after I had repeatedly warned him that he needed to stay right by my side.  Pure panic for the 2 minutes that I couldn’t find him in that huge crowd.  I found him crying in a corner and he was so scared it broke my heart.  But other than that little mishap this place was great!  I always feel a little sad at Christmas that we aren’t in Utah with our families, but this place was a great distraction.  I think the boys favorite part was staying in the hotel with friends and eating lots of candy.  We had a blast!

Road trip to College Station 12/26/13

The day after Christmas we took a road trip to college station to see Santa’s Wonderland (more on that in the next post).  But we sure did a lot of fun things on the way there!  We stopped at the Brenham airport hanger that has the cutest little diner in it.  The kiddos loved watching airplanes land and take off while we ate lunch.  Then we headed down the road a bit to the Bluebell ice cream factory.  We didn’t have time to do the tour, but we did of course grab some yummy ice cream, folding hats, and walk around for a bit.
