Actually, it wasn’t even our stake activity. It was our old stake. But with the way our new boundaries are, our own Christmas stake activity was in Baytown which is an hour away. And this one was only 20 minutes away. We have gone every year to this Nativity and we love it! Basically it’s an open house that both members from church and people of our community come to. The entire church is filled with nativity sets from around the world and it’s really neat to see. And then they have the Nativity movie playing in the Chapel for people to go in and watch. They also have all the missionaries in our area there at the event to answer questions about our faith and hopefully find people who want to learn more about the gospel. Seriously, it is one of the coolest missionary opportunities I have ever seen. My boys loved it! Max especially. I didn’t realize he remembered much about baby Jesus, but the second we walked in he ran up to one and started yelling “it’s baby Jesus! Mom! It’s baby Jesus” The boys were really into it and loved walking around for a few minutes. They also had local music groups performing Christmas hymns and a local photographer taking pictures of families dressed up in Nativity clothes. Our picture, as you can see, kinda struggles. Of course taking any picture with my boys, and getting them to hold still and look at the camera, is near impossible. This time Max didn’t want to smile, but at least he looked forward. Kyler kept trying to rip off his crown and run away. Still, it’s a fun picture to have.
