Pumpkins come and pumpkins go, but a Jack-O-Lantern steals the show!

Max was a Jack-O-Lantern this Halloween.  This first one is the only picture I could get of his full costume.  He didn’t want to cooperate.

This was his day time Halloween outfit.  Yes, you heard right:) He had his Halloween outfit he wore during the day that said “Scare Crew” on it.  And then he wore his costume to go trick or treating.

Giving Mommy kisses.  That almost looks wrong lol.  But while we were taking pictures he turned to give me a kiss.  Such a sweet boy!

We went trick or treating with some of our friends.  Max rode in his wagon pretty much the whole time.  Have I mentioned how much I love our wagon?!

The only group picture I got of the kiddos.  Max of course is making his getaway.

Max and Noah checking each other out.  The rode in the wagon together for some of the time.

I stole these off of facebook.  My sister Lindy (far right) and her friends were ghost busters for Halloween.

Buy ONE get ONE free!

That’s right…. We are super excited to say that Baby #2 is on it’s way!  And this time it required no years of trying, no infertility treatments, and not a dime spent (except for the EPT).  Go Figure.

It was so fun to surprise Jeremy that day when he got home from work.  It was a Friday night and I had put on one of my shirts that is his favorite.  It isn’t a maternity shirt, but I wore it both when I was pregnant and when I’m not.  Anyways, when he got home that night he knew we were leaving in a few minutes for dinner.  I asked him “Does this shirt make me look pregnant”? he paused for a second, which he usually does when he is trying to not offend me haha.  Then I quickly whipped out my EPT test from my back pocket and said “cuz I am”!!  He was stunned, just like I had been that morning.  It was so fun to get pregnant so quickly because it was actually surprising!  And I have to say I was proud of myself for keeping a straight face.

I am due the end of April and am so happy to be in my second trimester.  I have been really sick the last 2 months but things are starting to get better.  Hopefully that means the nausea will be gone soon.

Anytime I lay down flat on the floor Max lifts up my shirt a little so he can see my belly and gives it kisses.  It is really precious because he does it very softly and has learned to be gentle.  Of course he has no idea what he is doing, he just knows he likes the praises he gets from me when he does it.  It is so cute though!  I am so excited that Max will have a sibling to play with soon.  Yay!

Update on Max… I know there haven’t been enough:)

So I know I have done a lot of Max posts lately, but for journaling purposes I needed to do his One Year update.

Max’s One Year Dr. Apt Stats:

  • Height: 30 3/4 in. (75th percentile)
  • weight: 23 lbs. (50th percentile)

What Max is up to:

  • Crawling.  Still not walking.  He follows us around everywhere we go.
  • Refuses to stand on his own.  He could do it if he wanted, but the second we try he sits down.
  • He has seven teeth and is getting another.
  • First word was bum.  lovely. (I always say “Let’s go change your bum” and one day he replied back “bum?”).
  • He can also say:  Ball, Hi, Ya, and of course    Ma Ma, Da Da, Na Na and Ba Ba.
  • He makes this “Mmmmm” noise when something is really good.  It is super funny.  The other day he tried fried rice.  After every single bite he said “Mmmmmm”!
  • He smiles and laughs every single day.  I really don’t know a happier boy.  He smiles in almost every picture I take of him and he gives us these big belly laughs everyday.  I love it!
  • He has started getting shy around people he doesn’t know.
  • He drinks milk from his sippy now.  He still has one bottle of formula before bed that I am trying to get him off of.  I need to just stop offering it to him, but I am sad to stop because the only time he will snuggle me is when he is drinking his bottle.
  • He loves to play in the dishwasher.
  • He thinks it’s funny to turn the TV off.
  • He loves to follow the cat.  The other day I caught him with the cat’s tail in his mouth!  SICK!
  • Favorite foods: Mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, bread, oatmeal, go-gurts, most fruit, won’t touch real veggies but still loves them pureed…. whatever.

He got this walker/bike from Grandpa and Grandma Knudsen.  He is actually close to being able to walk holding onto it.

For Max’s birthday I really wanted to get him a wagon from Jeremy and I.  Jeremy told me we couldn’t afford it right now so I was really bummed out.  Turns out he had already bought one and surprised us both!  Of course Max LOVES it!

Max’s 1st Birthday Paw-ty!

For Max’s first birthday we decided to do a combined puppy party with his bff Noah.  Noah is a couple days older than Max and since neither of us have families that could come, it was really fun to celebrate together with a few close friends.

This is the awesome invite Crystal made up.  It turned out super cute and she is so talented!

The birthday boys in their matching shirts.  We tried everything to get them to smile but they were to busy watching everyone and playing to smile.  This is the best we got.

Then they got too busy to even look at the camera at all:)

On the table we had muddy paw prints and we served the snacks right out of doggy bowls.

Here are the little “pupcakes” we made for everyone.

And for our goodie bags we gave out puppy chow:)

IMG_1407The kids all got their faces painted by Crystal.  The children all looked so cute and of course they thought it was great!

The boys digging into their cakes!  It was so funny to watch.  Max picked up the cardboard his cake was on and dumped the whole thing onto his head.  I think he was trying to get as much cake into his mouth as quickly as possible.  Of course Noah thoroughly enjoyed his cake too!

I love the big blob of chocolate on his face.  Yum!

DSC01917Cleaning up the boys was very MESSY!

Our cute little birthday boys!  It looks like I interrupted them from an important conversation:)

IMG_1470While Max was wearing his birthday hat he pulled down the rubber band that holds the hat on and let go.  It whipped his face pretty hard and he had a red line from it.  It was soooo sad.  After that he got sad whenever I sat him down.  Nap time!

Oh how I love this little boy!

The Big ONE!

My baby turned ONE yesterday!  I really can’t believe it has been a whole year since he came into our lives.  We are still so in love with him.  Max is the sweetest little boy and has brought so much joy to us.

We weren’t able to do much to celebrate yesterday because the poor little guy has bronchitis.  So we didn’t get to do any of the fun things I had planned.  Fortunately we had already had a little birthday celebration the weekend before so he didn’t miss out on much (Details of his 1st b-day bash coming soon). Still, I felt bad my birthday boy is sick.   Here are some of my favorite pictures from when he was born:

Me in labor the night before he was born (10/4/08).

Max was born October 5, 2008 at 12:04pm.  He weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long.

I love this picture because he looks like he is smiling at me.  This is about ten minutes after he was born.  He just kept looking up at me with those angel eyes.
