Baby, it’s Cold Outside

It snowed in Houston on Friday!  It was only for a day and was melted by mid-Saturday.  But it was still sooo much fun!  It made it actually FEEL like the holidays.  There’s just something about listening to Christmas music when it is sunny and warm that just feels wrong lol. Max has had the croup for the second time in the last month.  Ugh!  So on Friday we both stayed in our PJ’s all day, made Jeremy’s favorite Christmas cookies, and watched Christmas movies.  It was a perfect day.  And I loved snuggling Max on the couch all day,  even though it was so sad to see him sick.

A few weeks ago I watched my friend Crystal’s little boy.  I went to switch laundry really quickly and came back to find the boys had found the left over Halloween Candy.

Max and his partner in crime, Noah….

Max is officially a forward facing passenger:)  Texas is now recommending children stay rear facing until 2!!  We gave it our best try, but it is just unreasonable to expect a toddler to stay rear facing that long!  He was starting to be difficult in the car, plus I think he was getting car sick.  There were a few times that he threw up after we had driven for a longer time.  So I give in.  And I have to say, I love it!  It is so nice to be able to look back to see him and hand him things if he needs something.  And as you can see by the picture, Max loves it too!  He is so much more comfortable.  I don’t think he had fallen asleep in his new big boy car seat since we got it.  This was the first day he was forward facing.

Gobble Gobble.

For Thanksgiving this year my family came to us!  My Mom, Dad, Jason, Lindy and Nate all came out for a week and we had so much fun!  We went out to dinner practically every night, to the movies, and the boys went to both the Texans game and the Rockets game.  But mostly we just relaxed.  Max had so much fun playing with everyone and it was so nice because he was always entertained!

We went to Landry’s for Thanksgiving dinner.  It was really yummy and soooo nice to not have to worry about making anything.  Here’s the crew out to dinner:

Of course I was horrible at taking pictures while they were here… surprise, surprise.  I hardly got any of my parents!  I’ll definitely have to do better at Christmas.

Truly Blessed

This Thanksgiving I just keep thinking how thankful I am for all I have been blessed with.  I have a wonderful husband who loves me and the sweetest little boy who makes me smile every single day.  I am blessed to have the gospel in my life, and all our loved ones are healthy and safe.  Life is good.

Yesterday my family had a reminder of how blessed we truly are.  My brother Nate was on his way home to St. George late at night and fell asleep at the wheel.  He hit the median and rolled several times.  A lady driving not far behind him said she lost count of how many times he rolled.

Fortunately, he has no serious injuries and no other cars were hit.  The highway patrolman told Nate this accident is 100% fatality rate and that he must have something here on earth he is still supposed to do.  He said he has never seen anything like it and had there been any other passengers they would not be alive.  You can see in the picture there is just a little space above the driver’s side that isn’t smashed.

So today, I am thankful for life.  I am thankful for the tender mercies of our Heavenly Father.  I am thankful all the people I love in my life are healthy and safe.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our visitors

I am really late in posting this, but Kendall and Zack came to visit us a few weeks ago!  Her hubby was going on his annual hunting trip so Kendall and Zack came to visit us!  We had so much fun with them.  Kendall and I are due the same week so despite the fact that we were both struggling with morning sickness, it was nice to be sick with someone lol.  Misery loves company!

Our boys had so much fun playing together.  They were both so entertained by each other, it was great! It got me so excited for Max to have a little brother or sister to play with soon.  He needs someone to play with.

I was awful at taking pictures while they were here so I stole almost every picture from Kendall’s blog.  One of the only days we took pictures was at Old MacDonalds farm.  The boys had a great time riding the train and looking at all the animals.  I say looking because even though it is a petting zoo, we did very little petting.  Let’s just say the smells were a little much on our pregnant tummies.

The boys got to pick out a pumpkin at the end.

We took the boys on a lot of wagon rides.  The boys loved it!  I know I’ve said it before, but I swear that wagon is the best purchase ever!DSC01953DSC01967

The boy’s sleeping in the car. Aren't they so cute? Max thought it was so great to have a buddy in the back seat with him.

This is the only picture Kendall and I got of us.  And it was in the parking lot of the airport when they were going home.  Kendall looks all hot and I look nasty.  But I still had to post it.  Next time we need to take more pictures!

Kendall has come to visit the last two hunting seasons and I think we definitely need to make it a tradition!  Thanks Kendall and Zack for coming to visit.  We had so much fun with you!

Pumpkins come and pumpkins go, but a Jack-O-Lantern steals the show!

Max was a Jack-O-Lantern this Halloween.  This first one is the only picture I could get of his full costume.  He didn’t want to cooperate.

This was his day time Halloween outfit.  Yes, you heard right:) He had his Halloween outfit he wore during the day that said “Scare Crew” on it.  And then he wore his costume to go trick or treating.

Giving Mommy kisses.  That almost looks wrong lol.  But while we were taking pictures he turned to give me a kiss.  Such a sweet boy!

We went trick or treating with some of our friends.  Max rode in his wagon pretty much the whole time.  Have I mentioned how much I love our wagon?!

The only group picture I got of the kiddos.  Max of course is making his getaway.

Max and Noah checking each other out.  The rode in the wagon together for some of the time.

I stole these off of facebook.  My sister Lindy (far right) and her friends were ghost busters for Halloween.
